New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has confirmed it will tour Pakistan for two Tests and three ODIs in December/January 2022-23 as part of the Future Tours Programme and will return in April 2023 for 10 white-ball matches to make-up for the September 2021 abandoned tour, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday. PCB said the arrangement was finalized following meetings and discussions between the PCB and NZC Chairpersons Ramiz Raja and Martin Snedden, respectively. The two Tests and three ODIs will be part of the ICC World Test Championship and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, respectively, while the second visit will include two additional ODIs and will now comprise five ODIs and five T20Is that will count towards the ICC Rankings.

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi on Monday was named as ICC’s Men Cricketer of the Year.

Shaheen took 78 wickets in 36 internationals at an average of 22.20 with best bowling figures of 6/51.
The tall Pakistani quick was on fire throughout 2021, knocking some of the best batters over across all three formats of the game. He especially had a year to remember in Tests and T20Is, reaching his peak during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in UAE where he impressed one and all with his sheer speed and skills.

He would take seven wickets in six matches during the tournament in Pakistan’s run to the semi-final. He ruled the shortest format throughout the calendar year, scalping 23 wickets in 21 matches with his death bowling improving by leaps and bounds.

After a slow start to the year in Test cricket in New Zealand, Afridi burst to life during the home series against South Africa. He continued his brilliant form throughout the rest of the year in...

The former Pakistan cricketer, Mohsin Khan has come down hard on the Pakistan cricket team claiming that eight of their top eleven cricketers don’t meet the fitness standards.

Mohsin, who has played 48 Tests and 75 ODIs for the country, has suggested the name of Sharjeel Khan for the opening slot citing that he is a talented player and his below-par fitness levels won’t matter much as there are already a lot of players in the Pakistan squad who do not match the required fitness standards of international cricket.

He told Daily Express, “Opening has always been an issue for Pakistan. Sharjeel Khan is a talented player. His fitness should not be a major concern because I think eight players in Pakistan’s playing eleven don’t meet the required standards so it does not make much of a...

Organisers of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup are confident the men’s tournament will thrive even if it is directly competing with Australia’s football codes, as they consider COVID-19 contingency plans they hope will never be needed.

The world’s health crisis has cast doubt over the men’s T20 World Cup, slated to run from October 18 until November 15 in Australia.

Uncertainty clouds so many elements of life and limitations on international travel loom as a particularly big challenge for the 16-team event, depending on how much the coronavirus continues to spread.

Speculation is rife in India the T20 World Cup could be postponed or cancelled, but at this stage the International Cricket Council (ICC) have instead said they are in a holding pattern.
