Wimbledon Men's Preview 2018

Jul 02, 2018

It's that time of year again. Pimms and strawberries and cream are two traditions that don't really interest me but winning money trading the tennis is something that definitely does! Grand Slams are great for trading especially when big players fall a set or two behind as they often come back at very nice odds due to the extra sets available to them.

Trading The Big Club Historical Bias Edge

Jun 22, 2018

You will hear us mention time and time again that Betfair trading is all about gaining an edge and hammering that home time after time to earn money over the long run. Sounds easy right? Well it is, as long as you can find an edge. Fortunately, we have software, training and pro traders on hand to help you find one. Today I want to talk about one edge I have used to my advantage over the years and is usually pretty easy to spot and take advantage from, I call it - 'Historical Big Club Bias'.

French Open Final Rafa Nadal v Dominic Thiem Preview

You will hear a lot today about Thiem facing the toughest test in tennis, beating Nadal on clay at Roland Garros. Nadal has only lost twice in his 80+ matches at this tournament, once to Djokovic and once to Robin Soderling (remember him?). For me the most incredible statistic about Nadal's success is that this is his 11th final and he has won all 10 before this. To win every final of a Grand Slam 10 times in a row is an incredible effort.

Betfair Tennis Trading Life After Andy Murray

Martin's picture
May 09, 2018

As news broke today of a set-back in Andy Murray's recovery from his hip injury it got me thinking about life after he retires. It has been a tough year having no Murray matches to follow given how consitently he had made the latter stages of pretty much all tennis tournaments over the past decade. Murray's dogged style of never giving up but also taking his eye off the ball when ahead meant that for many of us Betfair Tennis traders he was a goldmine.

Now that the NFL draft is complete and free agency is all but wrapped up, it feels like a good time to start looking at the Superbowl 53 in Atlanta. A lot can happen between now and the start of the season in September (injuries to key players being the biggest threat to any long term trades but this does allow for some quite juicy odds in a fairly wide open field this year.

An early FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Preview

As it is the end of the final international break before the World Cup begins in less than 80 days time I thought it would be good to do a preview of some of the teams who I think are value prices at the moment in the Betfair outright market. I'm looking for teams with the potential to trade lower during the tournament rather than teams who are favourite to win it.
